Mandarin Language

Chinese Mandarin and China

Chinese Mandarin is the most spoken dialect of Chinese.  Being the official national language it is spoken by virtually all the 1.4 billion people in China making it the most spoken language in the world.  It is also an official language in several other countries, e.g. Taiwan and Singapore, is spoken by a large diaspora in every corner of the world and is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.

Over the last two decades, the importance of the Mandarin Chinese language in the world has continued to increase.  The economy in China has grown several times faster than that of most other countries. It has long been the world’s capital of manufacturing, just look at the number of products bearing the tag “made in China,” and is becoming the world’s most prominent country for business, trade, banking and technology.

While the rise of China may seem like a modern phenomenon, for most of the last 2,000 years China has been the world’s richest country boasting a rich history and culture seen in its traditional architecture, art, literature and its varied culinary delights. More tourists are flocking to see China’s ancient and modern treasures. Unfortunately they are often faced with problems due to language barriers.

While more people are learning Mandarin, in spite of the importance of Chinese and the wealth China has to offer visitors, few people have learned the language. Perhaps the main reason is that they find the language difficult. However, with the right teaching you can learn the language and we can help.
